Faucigny Academy
Founded in 1938 in Bonneville, the Académie du Faucigny is an association that studies the history, art, archaeology, culture and ethnology of the former duchy of Savoy, in particular the province of Faucigny.
The Académie du Faucigny promotes the preservation, understanding and promotion of Savoie's heritage and culture. Its activities are open to historians, researchers, students and the general public. The Académie collects and preserves in its archives manuscripts and documents concerning the history of the former duchy of Savoie, ie the present-day departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie. This learned society donated the entire library of Professor Paul Guichonnet, some 12,000 books and documents. The Académie du Faucigny's extensive library is open to public consultation.
