La Roche - Saint-Renan Twinning Committee

Saint-Renan is a medieval town in Brittany, in the heart of the Iroise region, 15 km northwest of Brest.

The town is famous for its medieval festivals, which take place every 2 years in July. Each time, a delegation from Roch travels to Saint-Renan for a magnificent parade in period costume through the town's streets. The La Roche - Saint-Renan twinning dates back to 1996. The role of the twinning committee : - Promote cultural, sporting and associative encounters between our 2 towns. - Facilitate visits by Bretons wishing to discover Haute-Savoie, and vice versa. - Help organize exchanges within the framework of the CCAS. Every year since 2016, young people from Brittany have come to Haute-Savoie in February to discover snow and winter sports. In July, young people from Roch enjoy the pleasures of the Iroise Sea. In 2022, we welcomed the running club, 55 people who took part in the Annecy half-marathon and marathon. Each time, we share great moments of conviviality, and over the years we've forged real bonds of friendship with our Breton friends. Locally, the Comité de Jumelage takes part in : - La Foire de la Saint-Denis (mussels, French fries and refreshments under the Grenette), - Festival Populaire de la Soupe (fish soup, of course), - Les vœux de la Municipalité (around 500 crêpes), - Various other Rochois events to represent Brittany at all occasions. If you'd like to discover Saint-Renan and the surrounding region, please don't hesitate to contact us, and we'll be happy to put you in touch with our friends from Rean.
